Famous the world over as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford has maintained many historical buildings, including Shakespeares birthplace. This has been superbly maintained, and is worth a trip on its own. It is right in the heart of the pedestrianised center of Stratford, and open throughout the year.
Stratford, is also home to the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company) and they have plays on throughout the year.
Stratford, like many places in England, can be reached in a day from London, but with so much to do around the area it is definitely worth taking the time to spend a few days here.
